Yesterday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully destroyed two anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM) launchers in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen. These launchers posed a significant threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels transiting the region. In an update from June 10, partner forces under CENTCOM successfully destroyed an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) launched by Iranian-backed Houthis into the Gulf of Aden. There were no injuries reported by U.S., coalition, or merchant vessels. The UAS was deemed an imminent threat, and its neutralization helped protect freedom of navigation and ensure the safety and security of international waters.
On June 9, CENTCOM conducted a humanitarian assistance airdrop into Northern Gaza to provide essential relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict. This joint operation involved one U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft, which dropped over 10 metric tons of Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) in Northern Gaza. To date, the U.S. has airdropped more than 1,050 metric tons of humanitarian assistance, complementing deliveries made through the Joint Logistics Over the Sea (JLOTS) corridor. These humanitarian airdrops by the Department of Defense (DoD) are part of ongoing efforts by the U.S. and partner nations to alleviate human suffering.
The continued planning of follow-on aerial deliveries underscores the sustained commitment to providing necessary aid to Gaza. Elon Musk Drops OpenAI Lawsuit:
