Chase Bank Explosion:

On Tuesday, an explosion at a Chase Bank in Youngstown, Ohio, resulted in at least seven injuries and left two individuals missing. The blast, which occurred around 3 pm, severely damaged the ground floor of the Realty building on E. Federal Street, where the bank is located, as described by witnesses. Emergency responders transported seven victims to a local Ohio hospital, with one reported in critical condition.
Local officials and the bank are coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of all bank personnel and to start assessing the structural damage. Despite witness reports of smoke and the smell of gas, the cause of the explosion has yet to be confirmed. Debora Flora, an employee at the nearby Mahoning County Land Bank, recounted hearing a significant boom and seeing dark smoke emanating from the building. The search for the two missing individuals is ongoing, with emergency crews waiting for the green light to safely enter the building.
The explosion also affected residents living in the apartments above the bank, with debris blocking exits and causing distress. The local community is disrupted, with road closures around the site, alterations to local bus schedules, and efforts by the Red Cross to accommodate displaced residents. Chase Bank has yet to make a formal statement regarding the incident. At the time of reporting, the two individuals remain missing following the explosion.
