Europes First Spot Bitcoin ETF:
- Europe has launched its first spot bitcoin ETF, named the Jacobi FT Wilshere Bitcoin ETF. It complies with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) and is listed on Euronext Amsterdam. While the U.S. has had multiple Spot Bitcoin ETF applications, Europe's official launch marks the first.
- Jacobi received approval for this fund in October 2021, intending to introduce it in 2022. However, the debut was postponed due to the industry's market conditions, notably the downfall of Terra and FTX.
- The ETF is trading under the 'BCOIN' ticker. Fidelity Digital Assets will provide custodial services, and Flow Traders will serve as a market maker. Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to review numerous applications for its first Spot Bitcoin ETF.
