Fox vs Dominion:

Fox News and Dominion, a popular US voting machine company, reached a settlement in a defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million. Dominion had initially sued Fox News for $1.6 billion after they aired accusations that the company rigged the election in favor of Biden.
The trial was delayed by one day due to settlement rumors, and a deal was reached after the first day of the trial. Fox News agreed to pay Dominion the settlement amount and admitted that some claims made about the company were false.

Kidnapped Pilot:

Philip Mehrtens, a New Zealand pilot, was kidnapped by Indonesian separatists in February. During a recent rescue attempt (last weekend) by 36 Indonesian military members, they were ambushed, resulting in six deaths.

The 37-year-old pilot remains a hostage, and Indonesia pledges to use "maximum force" for his release. Indonesia has over 17,000 islands, with New Guinea being the largest.
The western half of New Guinea is home to the region known as Papua, where rebels have been fighting for independence since the 1960s when Indonesia took control of the region from the Dutch colonial administration.

Secret Police Station:

US prosecutors charged two men for allegedly operating a secret Chinese police station in New York City's Chinatown.
The Ministry of Public Safety (MPS), China's primary domestic law enforcement agency, is accused of establishing around 100 secret police stations globally to monitor and intimidate Chinese dissidents.
In October, the FBI raided a suspected secret police office in NYC's Chinatown and on Monday, arrested two US citizens connected to it. Both individuals allegedly admitted to deleting texts from an MPS official, leading to charges of obstructing justice and conspiring to work for China.
