Columbian President Son Arrested:

On Saturday, Nicolas Petro, the son of Colombia's President Gustavo Petro, was apprehended, accused of accepting funds illicitly from drug cartels.
These alleged funds were said to be a trade-off for facilitating peace negotiations with these criminal groups. Colombia, a country grappling with various armed factions, including rebels and cartels, has seen President Petro committing to establish peace treaties with these groups.
This year, allegations emerged from Nicolas' former spouse, claiming that he had pocketed campaign donations purportedly received from cartels for his father's presidential campaign. Further, she asserted that Nicolas promised to include these cartels in peace dialogue. Following these accusations, both Nicolas and his ex-wife were detained this Saturday.
