U.S. Inflation:

The US inflation rate has dipped to 3%, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This indicates a consistent drop from the previous months, with 4% inflation in May, 4.9% in April, and 9% in June 2022.
Since March 2022, the Federal Reserve (Fed) has raised interest rates ten times, leading to a target federal funds rate between 5 to 5.25 percent. However, the Fed's response to the current inflation data is still uncertain.

XAI:

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and owner of Twitter, has launched a new AI company named xAI. The company's mission is to "understand the true nature of the universe," according to its website. The team consists of experts who have previously been part of notable organizations like DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto.
They have collectively contributed to major AI methods and developments including AlphaStar, AlphaCode, Inception, Minerva, and chatbots like GPT-3.5 and GPT-4. The xAI team, led by Musk, includes accomplished researchers and engineers like Igor Babuschkin, Manuel Kroiss, Yuhuai Wu, and others.
The team is also advised by Dan Hendrycks, the current director of the Center for AI Safety. While xAI is a distinct entity from X Corp, the companies will collaborate closely. xAI is currently seeking experienced engineers and researchers to join their Bay Area team.

IOS 17:

iOS 17, the latest public beta for iPhone XR or newer, introduces several innovative features. Significant ones include real-time voicemail transcriptions, video messages for missed FaceTime calls, and StandBy Mode, which transforms idle iPhones into functional smart displays.
The Sensitive Content Warning feature offers enhanced privacy by blurring explicit content. NameDrop allows easy contact info sharing using NFC technology.
The update also brings about a new way to find photos during texting, an extensive range of stickers, a function to customize your caller ID display with Contact Posters, and an improved messaging search with filters.
