AI-Powered Stealth Drone:

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has successfully conducted the first flight of its AI-powered stealth drone, the XQ-58A Valkyrie, on July 25 at Florida's Eglin Air Force Base. The flight lasted three hours. Col. Tucker Hamilton stated that the mission demonstrated an AI's ability to tackle airborne challenges and its multi-layer safety on an uncrewed aircraft.
This breakthrough could pave the way for AI agents to perform modern air-to-air and air-to-surface operations. The Valkyrie, designed in partnership with Kratos Defense, is a cost-effective, high-speed drone described by AFRL as offering "maximum utility at minimum cost."

Amidst global AI advancements, concerns arise as a simulated test in June had an AI drone mistakenly "kill" its human operator.
