  • Elon Musk proposed Las Vegas as the location for a "cage match" with Mark Zuckerberg. Musk's suggestion, "Vegas Octagon," was in response to Zuckerberg's request for a location for their duel. Russia vs Wagner Group:

  • In a surprising 24-hour period, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, the leader of Russia's private military group, the Wagner Group, redirected his troops from Ukraine to confront the Russian government. This action suggested a possible coup attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
  • However, within a day, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko brokered a peace deal between Prigozhin and the government, causing Prigozhin to reverse his march and return his forces to Ukraine. Prigozhin himself is set to go into exile in Belarus.
  • Prigozhin's move was in response to perceived corruption within Russia's leadership and poor military decision-making. Though his march to Moscow was short-lived, it was a significant challenge to Putin's power. The impact of this event on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is yet to be seen, but it might introduce some instability within the Wagner Group and possibly provide an advantage to the Ukrainian forces.
  • The possibility of a successful coup seems low due to the strength of Putin's regime, which has been structured to resist such attempts. However, this event might lead to further internal repression and increased tension within Russian society. As of now, predicting the exact implications of these events on Russia's internal politics or the Ukraine war is difficult.

Hunter Biden WhatsApp Messages:

  • Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, reached a plea deal with the Justice Department following a five-year investigation, which will likely help him avoid prison. This has led to further accusations of corruption by congressional Republicans.
  • A 2017 WhatsApp message, allegedly from Hunter Biden to a Chinese business associate, is being used by Republicans as evidence of Biden's potential corruption. The message appears to involve Hunter Biden leveraging his father's political connections, a claim which has been repeatedly denied by the White House.
  • The alleged WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to a Chinese business associate reads: "I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight.
  • And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father."
