SpaceX:

  • SpaceX is set to launch the Axiom Space's Axiom Mission 2 (Ax-2) to the International Space Station Today, Sunday, May 21. The launch will take place from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, with an instantaneous launch window at 5:37 p.m. EST (21:37 UTC).
  • A backup launch opportunity is scheduled for the following day. The spacecraft being used for this mission is the Dragon, which previously flew Crew-4 to the space station. After stage separation, the Falcon 9's first stage will return to land at Cape Canaveral's Landing Zone 1.
  • The crew on this mission will conduct over 20 science and technology experiments, focusing on areas like human physiology, physical sciences, and STEAM, to further knowledge in fields such as healthcare, materials, and technology development.
  • The crew members of this mission are Peggy Whitson, John Shoffner, Ali Alqarni, and Rayyanah Barnawi. The live webcast for the Ax-2 mission will start about 3.5 hours before liftoff.
