U.S. Cluster Bombs to Ukraine:

The U.S. has decided to send cluster bombs to Ukraine, leading to a heated debate. These weapons spread many smaller bombs over a large area, and can cause long-term harm if they don't explode.
Despite opposition from human rights groups and some lawmakers, the U.S. believes these weapons will assist Ukraine in their struggle against Russia. This decision has created tension within NATO, as 18 members have banned such weapons.

U.S. Water Forever Chemicals:

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, nearly half of the water taps across the United States dispense water tainted with "forever chemicals". These are synthetic chemicals, notably per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), that are resistant to breaking down in the environment and in the human body, leading to potential health risks.
Responsibility for the quality of drinking water in the United States is shared among several federal, state, and local entities. At the federal level, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets standards for drinking water quality and oversees the states, localities, and water suppliers who implement those standards.
The EPA also regulates the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems, including "forever chemicals." At the state level, public health and environmental departments are often involved in water quality testing and enforcement of regulations.

SpaceX Launches:

Yesterday, the Falcon 9 rocket launched 48 Starlink satellites from a California base, marking the 12th mission for this specific rocket, which had previously deployed various other satellites and missions.
The next Falcon 9 launch is planned for Sunday, July 9, carrying 22 more Starlink satellites from a Florida base. If necessary, multiple additional launch slots are available throughout the day and evening, with backup options extending into Monday, July 10.
This upcoming mission will be the 16th for the rocket involved, which has a track record including manned missions and multiple Starlink launches. After the rocket's stage separates, it's planned to land on a droneship located in the Atlantic Ocean.
These Starlink satellites contribute to a network designed to provide global broadband coverage, including regions where internet access is non-existent or unreliable. They also provide the U.S. military with secure communication channels, advanced imagery, targeting data, and space situational awareness, enhancing military operational capabilities.
