Patties Foods Limited Data Exposure:

A significant data exposure involving 524,000 documents from Patties Foods Limited, a major Australian food company, was discovered by cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler and reported to WebsitePlanet. Among the exposed records were over 25,000 invoices and evidence of ransomware. This data was accessible through two non-password-protected databases: an exposed logging server with 496,296 records and a cloud storage database containing invoices and distribution records in .pdf and .xls formats.
The logging server contained system errors, warnings, search queries, cluster health status, diagnostic data, and internal, customer, and vendor emails. The invoices and distribution records were traced back to Patties Foods Limited, known for producing a wide range of edible products like meat pies, sausage rolls, pastries, desserts, and frozen fruits. The IP address managing these records was linked to Provenio.ai, a company providing AI-powered productivity solutions for the supply chain back-office to several prominent Australian companies.
After discovering the breach, Fowler immediately notified Provenio, which quickly restricted access to the exposed databases. A Provenio representative confirmed the swift action and suggested the exposure might have been due to human error during a patch update. An internal forensic audit would be necessary to determine how long the databases were exposed and if any unauthorized access occurred. The exposed data included sensitive information such as vendor contacts, emails, banking details, invoice amounts, and support tickets, posing significant risks if accessed by malicious actors.

On June 9, Microsoft held its annual Xbox Games Showcase and revealed new all-digital versions of its Xbox Series X and S consoles.
