- Microsoft is rolling out a comprehensive AI training and certification program, free of charge. The curriculum, currently offered in English, has plans to support more languages in the near future, making it accessible to a broader audience.
- The course is primarily centered around generative AI, a rapidly evolving sector within AI. Participants will gain a deep understanding of this area, empowering them to innovate and solve complex problems.
- The coursework is enriched with supplementary resources, including a trainer toolkit. This toolkit is intended to support participants in consolidating their learning and applying the concepts in real-world contexts. In addition, the initiative includes a free AI skills challenge on Microsoft Learn, their e-learning platform.
- This challenge is designed to encourage participants to apply their knowledge and skills in a competitive yet supportive learning environment, enhancing their grasp of the course content. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a professional certificate in generative AI. This certificate is a valuable credential that can help distinguish individuals in the competitive field of AI.
Kansas Heartland Tri-State Bank:
- On Friday, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) took over the failing Heartland Tri-State Bank in Elkhart, Kansas. All customer deposits were secured by the FDIC and a purchase agreement was made with Dream First Bank of Syracuse, Kansas. As a result, all four Heartland Tri-State Bank branches will operate as Dream First Bank from Monday.
- This follows the substantial disruption in the banking sector, which witnessed the collapse of First Republic, Silicon Valley Bank, and Signature Bank earlier this year. These incidents have triggered lawmakers to propose legislation ensuring customer deposit safety and financial system stability. Heartland Tri-State Bank is the first bank to close since the significant failure of First Republic in May.
- The FDIC assures customers that their funds can still be accessed through checks, ATMs, and debit cards. These customers will automatically transition to Dream First Bank without any changes required in their banking practices. Heartland Tri-State Bank, which had approximately $139 million in total assets and $130 million in deposits, has sold virtually all its failed assets to Dream First Bank, as per the FDIC.
