Starship:

  • Today, SpaceX will attempt to launch the fully assembled Starship and Super Heavy rocket, launching from Starbase in Texas. The 150-minute test window commences at 7:00 am CT (8:00 am EST).
  • Starship is designed to take 100 people on extended interplanetary space journeys, launch satellites, construct Moon bases, and allow fast travel between Earth locations.
  • With its payload capacity of up to 150 metric tonnes reusable and 250 metric tonnes expendable, Starship is one of the largest and most powerful spaceships ever created.
  • If successful, the launch will mark a pivotal moment in space travel, revolutionizing our approach to exploring the cosmos and enhancing our understanding of the vast universe that surrounds us.

FedNow:

  • FedNow is a real-time payment and settlement service developed by the Federal Reserve System in the United States. It is designed to enable financial institutions to process and settle payments instantly, 24/7, and 365 days a year.
  • The FedNow system is expected to be operational between May and July of this year.
  • There are concerns that the FED now system is a prototype of a CBDC.
